Four French Hens was founded in January 2014 but my family has been creating handmade beauty products for as long as I can remember. I grew up in the country riding horses and working in the garden and my family instilled in me the belief that things are somehow better when you have a hand in making them.
The Four French Hens story began in November of 2013 when our family purchased four chicks with the eventual promise of fresh eggs. We named the one Australorp and three Ameracauna chicks Henrietta, Shadow, Bird and Swagger. Since then, we've added a few to the brood and boy, do they ever produce eggs!
Around the time we got our chicks, my husband encouraged me to begin selling my products. The inspiration for our name was drawn from our Louisiana roots (he hails from West Monroe and I am from Shreveport), the Fleur de Lis symbol, our love for French culture and our first four hens.
Four French Hens creates handmade products from local ingredients that are fresh and organic. The goats milk and honey comes from Three Goats Farm in Montgomery, Texas and we are proud to use beers and wines produced throughout Texas. We also offer workshops and classes in soap making and the creation of a variety of other all-natural products.
We are a family-owned and operated business with a strong love and faith in God. We enjoy giving back to our community and donate a portion of our profits to local charity or families in need. Each of our handmade products is made by our family in Texas with love. We hope you enjoy using them. –Traci Lyn Antley & the Four French Hens Family
